Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Salik gates, toll costs and how to recharge Salik.

How does the Salik Calculator work?

You pick a starting point and a destination in Dubai. The calculator estimates which Salik gates lie along that route and multiplies the number of crossings by the current tariff to show your total cost. You can also set round trips and a number of days to plan a budget.

How much is each Salik crossing?

Dubai uses variable pricing: AED 6 during peak hours (06:00–10:00 and 16:00–20:00), AED 4 during standard hours, and AED 0 during the free period (01:00–06:00 and all day Sunday). Every gate you pass is charged separately.

What is a salik recharge?

Salik is prepaid, so you must keep a positive balance. Topping up that balance is called a salik recharge. See our Salik Recharge page for the available methods.

How do I recharge Salik online?

The quickest way to recharge Salik online is through the official Salik website or app, or via many UAE banking and wallet apps. Use our calculator first to work out how much balance you need.

Is the calculated amount exact?

It is a reliable budgeting estimate based on Dubai's main toll corridor and current tariffs. The exact gates depend on the specific roads you choose, so treat it as a planning figure rather than an official charge.

Do I pay Salik on Sundays?

No. Salik gates are free all day on Sundays and every day between 01:00 and 06:00. Select the “Free period” option in the calculator to reflect this.

Is Fineuaeroad an official Salik service?

No. Fineuaeroad is an independent budgeting tool and is not affiliated with Salik PJSC or the RTA. For official services and a real salik recharge, use the official channels.
